The fourth seeded russian, Nikolay Davydenko defeated the World No.2 Rafael Nadal in straight sets (6-4, 6-2), at the Sony Ericsson Open 2008 held in Miami, Florida. It was Davydenko's 1st title of the year and 12th of his career.
